Possible Prosthetic Valve Endocarditis by Pandoraea pnomenusa and Specific Virulence Mechanisms

Bacteremia by Pandoraea spp. has rarely been described before. We report the first case of a P. pnomenusa possible prosthetic valve endocarditis, according to modified Duke criteria, in 37-year old male injecting drug user suffering from recurrent endocarditis. Furthermore, we demonstrate biofilm formation isolates this patient and investigate antibiotic resistance.
